Dear AEA Community,

 

I hope this message finds you well. As we all prepare for the start of the 2023-2024 school year, I want to bring to your attention the potential impact of Hurricane Hilary on our region. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students, families, staff, and community members.

 

Hurricane Hilary will approach Baja over the next few days and continue towards the US Southwest. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Hilary could reach the Southern California/Mexico border on Sunday and continue through Monday with a Tropical Storm status that includes wind speeds between 39 MPH and 73 MPH. Heavy rainfall, strong winds, and potential flooding are possible. 

 

We will continue to monitor the storm’s progress and communicate school-related updates, including potential closures or changes to school activities across all AEA platforms. While we hope for the best, we must prepare for all scenarios.

Mientras todos nos preparamos para el inicio del ciclo escolar 2023-2024, quiero hacer notarles el posible impacto del huracán Hilary en nuestra región. Nuestra máxima prioridad es la seguridad y el bienestar de nuestros estudiantes, familias, personal y miembros de la comunidad.

 

El huracán Hilary se acercará a Baja California en los próximos días y continuará hacia el suroeste de EE.UU.. De acuerdo con la Administración Nacional Oceánica y Atmosférica (NOAA), Hilary podría alcanzar la frontera entre el sur de California y México el domingo y continuar hasta el lunes con categoría de Tormenta Tropical lo que incluye rachas de viento entre 39 MPH y 73 MPH. Es posible que se produzcan lluvias torrenciales, vientos fuertes y posibles inundaciones.

 

Seguiremos vigilando el desarrollo de la tormenta y comunicaremos actualizaciones relacionadas con la escuela, incluyendo posibles cierres o cambios en las actividades escolares a través de todas las plataformas de AEA. Aunque esperamos que todo salga bien, debemos prepararnos para todos los escenarios.

ich hoffe, dass es Ihnen gut geht. Während wir uns alle auf den Beginn des Schuljahres 2023-2024 vorbereiten, möchte ich Sie auf die möglichen Auswirkungen des Hurrikans Hilary auf unsere Region aufmerksam machen. Unsere oberste Priorität ist die Sicherheit und das Wohlergehen unserer Schüler, Familien, Mitarbeiter und Gemeinschaftsmitglieder.

 

Hurrikan Hilary wird sich in den nächsten Tagen Baja nähern und weiter in Richtung Südwesten der USA ziehen. Nach Angaben der National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) könnte Hilary am Sonntag die Grenze zwischen Südkalifornien und Mexiko erreichen und bis Montag als Tropensturm mit Windgeschwindigkeiten zwischen 39 MPH und 73 MPH andauern. Starke Regenfälle, starke Winde und auch Überschwemmungen sind möglich. 

 

Wir werden den Verlauf des Sturms weiterhin beobachten und über alle AEA-Plattformen schulbezogene Informationen, einschließlich möglicher Schließungen oder Änderungen von Schulaktivitäten, kommunizieren. Während wir das Beste hoffen, müssen wir uns auf alle Szenarien vorbereiten.
