Feeding San Diego AEA K-8 Community Service Opportunity

AEA Families

We have arranged a family community service opportunity with “Feeding San Diego,” on both, February 24 and May 5, for a “Food Sorting” volunteers shift from 9AM-11AM. We have reserved this time for up to 125 volunteers from AEA, and sign up is first come first serve. The CEO of Feeding San Diego is an AEA parent alumnus, and is looking forward to AEA’s involvement.  

Elementary students must be accompanied by their parents, but middle school students are able to sign up via Managebac, and will be supervised by staff volunteers.

Volunteers sign up to participate by using the easy steps provided below. This helps collect volunteer waivers, know how many volunteers to expect, and makes the sign in process for group members much smoother.

How Group Members Sign Up Online

  1. Visit http://vhub.at/fsd
  2. Click “Sign in” in the upper right hand corner and follow the steps as instructed.
  3. During this step, you will be asked to enter your groups join code: 1693
  4.  After you sign in or create an account, look for your group volunteer shift on the calendar.
  5. Click the “Sign Up” button to the left of your group’s volunteer shift.
  6. Each Volunteer will receive a confirmation email when signed up successfully.

*February sign up is available now.  May sign up will be available in December.

Important Reminders

All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes.

Volunteers must be 6 and older to volunteer.

Any volunteers not signed up online must bring a paper waiver, to include a parent or guardian signature if under 18 years.

 

We require 15 adult chaperones for this group size.

On the day of your event:

  •        Arrive at 9455 Waples Street, Suite 135 San Diego, CA 92121.
  •        Sign in, complete a name tag.
  •        Volunteers not signed up online must also complete a paper waiver.
  •        Wait in the Volunteer Center for your volunteer event to begin.
  •        Volunteers will take a distribution center tour which will end at the project location.
  •        Make an impact! Bring a donation of nonperishable food like peanut butter, canned vegetables, or canned chicken.

Hemos organizado una oportunidad de servicio comunitario familiar con “Feeding San Diego”, el 24 de febrero para un turno de voluntarios “Food Sorting” de 9am-11am. Hemos reservado este tiempo para hasta 125 voluntarios de AEA, y se inscriben por orden de llegada. El CEO de Feeding San Diego es un ex alumno de AEA, y espera la participación de AEA.

Los estudiantes de primaria deben estar acompañados por sus padres, pero los estudiantes de secundaria pueden inscribirse a través de Managebac, y serán supervisados por voluntarios del personal.

  3. Durante este paso, se le pedirá que ingrese su código de unión de grupos: 1693
  4. Después de iniciar sesión o crear una cuenta, busque su turno de voluntario grupal en el calendario.
  5. Haga clic en el botón “Registrarse” a la izquierda del turno voluntario de su grupo.
  6. Cada voluntario recibirá un correo electrónico de confirmación cuando se haya registrado con éxito.

Recordatorios importantes
Todos los voluntarios deben usar zapatos cerrados.
Los voluntarios deben tener 6 años o más para ser voluntarios.
Cualquier voluntario que no se inscriba en línea debe traer una renuncia en papel, para incluir una firma del padre o tutor si es menor de 18 años.
El día de tu evento:
• Llegue al 9455 Waples Street, Suite 135 San Diego, CA 92121.
• Iniciar sesión, completar una etiqueta de nombre.
• Los voluntarios que no se inscribieron en línea también deben completar una forma en papel.
• Espere en el Centro de Voluntarios para que comience su evento de voluntariado.
• Los voluntarios realizarán un recorrido por el centro de distribución que finalizará en la ubicación del proyecto.
• ¡Haz un impacto! Traiga una donación de alimentos no perecederos como crema de cacahuate, vegetales enlatados o pollo enlatado.
