Math
Assessment
There will be an optional Math assessment offered to all incoming 6th graders on the dates provided below. This assessment will give us valuable data that will help us strategically build Math classes. The assessment we are using is the NWEA MAP. Like the new SBAC test, it is adaptive. It is also aligned to Common Core State Standards. If your child has recently taken the NWEA MAP at their current elementary school, please note that the middle school MAP does provide the opportunity for students to demonstrate higher mathematical understanding. Please also note that this assessment is not mandatory and no student will be penalized for not participating. We understand that students have many assessments and activities this time of year.
Available Dates & Times:
Saturday, June 4th, from 9AM – 11AM
Saturday, June 11, from 9AM – 11AM
Additional Details:
Please arrive promptly at the start time to support a general message at the beginning of the test. Students can call for a ride when finished. Of course parents are welcome to stay on campus.
The assessment will take no more than two hours to complete, but many students finish within an hour.
