Hello AEA Parents!

 

My name is Heather McLean and I am the new Elementary School Room Parent Coordinator at Friends of AEA for the 2022-2023 school year. Friends of AEA is our version of a PTA for the AEA community.

 

We are looking for Room Parents for all classes! While we wait to see what this new year will look like, we would love to have parental involvement to help take care of our teachers and assist with classroom communications. We will also keep you posted if the campus opens up later in the year for on-site volunteering opportunities.

 

We are looking for 1–2 volunteers per classroom and have two key positions per classroom for Room Parents:

 

1) The Gift Giver: This parent is in charge of purchasing & delivering teacher gifts throughout the year (birthdays; teacher/staff appreciation week, holidays).  Class funds will be collected for each grade level via the Giving Fuel website and distributed evenly amongst the classes. Our FOAEA Treasurer will work with you to distribute the funds for your class(es).

 

2) The Classroom Communicator: This parent is the email communicator between the parents and the teachers; they’ll send out weekly email blasts to the parents about upcoming events, send out reminders, additional classroom correspondence, etc. It is suggested to check in with your teachers weekly or bi-weekly to see what needs they have for supplies or projects and communicate that to the parents. Most of the time it will simply involve forwarding a weekly email with all relevant information sent to you by me. This volunteer should be available via email and/or text Monday-Friday.

¡Hola Padres AEA!

 

Soy Heather McLean la nueva Coordinadora de Friends of AEA (Amigos de AEA) para Padres Voluntarios en el Salón de Clases en la Escuela Primaria durante el año escolar 2022-2023. Friends of AEA es nuestra organización de padres, representantes y maestros para la comunidad AEA.  

 

¡Estamos en la búsqueda de Padres Voluntarios en el Salón de Clases para todos los salones! Aunque todavía no sabemos cómo será la dinámica este año, nos gustaría contar con la participación de los padres para ayudar a nuestros maestros y servir como puentes de comunicación. Asimismo, los mantendremos informados en caso de que abran el campus más adelante y tengamos más oportunidades de voluntariado en sitio.

 

En esta oportunidad estamos buscando de 1 a 2 voluntarios por clase, para cubrir dos posiciones claves como Padres Voluntarios en el Salón de Clases:

 

1) El Encargado de los Regalos: Este voluntario estará encargado de comprar y entregar los regalos a los maestros durante todo el año (cumpleaños, semana de reconocimiento a maestros y personal administrativo, festividades, etc.). Los fondos para los salones de clases serán recaudados para cada grado a través del sitio web Giving Fuel y distribuidos equitativamente entre los salones. La Tesorera de FOAEA se pondrá de acuerdo con cada voluntario para distribuir los fondos para cada salón.  

 

2) El Comunicador del Salón: Este voluntario será el encargado de la comunicación vía correo electrónico entre los padres/representantes y los maestros; enviarán un correo electrónico masivo semanal a los padres con los próximos eventos, enviarán recordatorios, así como comunicaciones adicionales, etc. Se sugiere mantener una comunicación con los maestros semanal o quincenalmente para ver si se necesitan suministros o si se debe comunicar algún proyecto a los padres. En la mayoría de los casos será simplemente reenviar un correo semanalmente con la información relevante que yo les enviaré. Este voluntario deberá estar disponible de Lunes a Viernes, via correo electrónico o mensaje de texto.

Hallo AEA Eltern,

 

Mein Name ist Heather und ich bin die neue Elementary School Room Parent Koordinatorin 2022-2023 bei Friends of AEA – die Eltern-Lehrer Vereinigung von AEA.

 

Zur Zeit suchen wir fuer saemtliche Klassen “Room Parents“. Leider muessen wir noch etwas abwarten, um zu sehen wie das Schuljahr verlaufen wird. Nichtsdestotrotz moechten wir die Eltern gerne bereits mit einbeziehen, um sich um unsere Lehrkraefte zu kuemmern und um mit der Klassenkommunikation mitzuhelfen. Gerne werden wir sie zu einem spaeteren Zeitpunkt ueber weitere ehrenamtliche Moeglichkeiten informieren.

 

Voruebergehend suchen wir 1-2 Eltern pro Klasse, welche eine der zwei foldenden Positionen uebernehmen moechten.

 

Geschenke-Organisator/-in: Diese Eltern sind dafuer verantwortlich Geschenke zu kaufen/organisieren und diese waehrend des Jahres an die Lehrkraefte zu uebergeben (z.B. Geburtstage, Feiertage etc). Klassenfonds werden fuer alle Klassenstufen durch die “Giving Fuel” Webseite gesammelt und danach gleichmaessig an jede Klasse verteilt. Unser FOAEA Treasurer wird die Eltern ueber die Betraege, die jeder Klasse zur Verfuegung stehen, informieren und mit ihnen zusammen arbeiten.

 

Klassenkommunikator/-in: Diese Freiwilligen werden mit anderen Eltern und Lehrkraeften via Email kommunizieren indem sie woechentliche Emails, betreffend Aktivitaeten und andere zusaetzliche Korrespondenz, versenden. Dabei ist es wichtig sich woechentlich oder jede zweite Woche mit den Lehrkraeften in Verbindung zu setzen um zu sehen, ob diese ueber spezielle Projekte informieren moechten oder allenfalls Wuensche fuer Schulmaterial haben. In den meisten Faellen wird aber nur eine Email weitergeleitet, welche sie von mir erhalten werden. Diese Freiwilligen sollten von Montag bis Freitag via email und/oder SMS erreichbar sein.

Ausserdem sind wir immer auf der Suche nach Freiwilligen fuer Friends of AEA. Fuer verschiedene Events und Projekte (z.B. kulturelle Aktivitaeten, jaehrliche Gala und anderes) moechten wir gerne Unter-Komiteen bilden und sind deshalb auf ihre Hilfe angewiesen.
