Important Message from AEA Superintendent and Board President on Maintaining a Welcoming and Safe Campus – February 12, 2025

Dear AEA Community,
At AEA, the safety and well-being of our students have always been our top priority. That has never changed, and it never will, no matter who is in the White House or what shifts in government policy may occur.
This includes every student in our care—our immigrant students, those from multi-status homes, our LGBTQ+ students, and all who make up the diverse and beautiful fabric of our community. While we closely monitor changes in laws at every level, nothing will ever shake our commitment to ensuring that every student is seen, valued, and safe.
We also want to emphasize that while we respect and uphold the First Amendment rights of our students and families—including the right to demonstrate—we encourage everyone to consider the impact of missing school. Every absence affects not only a student’s learning but also AEA’s ability to fund the programs and support systems that make our school a safe and inclusive space for all. Our unwavering commitment to our students and consistent attendance helps us continue providing the resources that make AEA strong.
AEA is, and will always be, a place where dignity, respect, and humanity guide us. Our students deserve nothing less.
We stand together, and we move forward together.

En AEA, la seguridad y el bienestar de nuestros estudiantes siempre han sido nuestra principal prioridad. Eso nunca ha cambiado y nunca cambiará, sin importar quién esté en la Casa Blanca o qué cambios puedan ocurrir en la política gubernamental.
Esto incluye a todos los estudiantes a nuestro cargo: nuestros estudiantes inmigrantes, aquellos de hogares con estatus múltiples, nuestros estudiantes LGBTQ+ y todos los que conforman el tejido diverso y hermoso de nuestra comunidad. Liebe AEA-Community,
Bei AEA hatten die Sicherheit und das Wohlergehen unserer Schüler schon immer oberste Priorität. Das hat sich nie geändert und wird sich auch nie ändern, egal wer im Weißen Haus sitzt oder welche politischen Veränderungen in der Regierung stattfinden.
Dazu gehört jeder Schüler in unserer Obhut – unsere Einwandererschüler, Schüler aus Familien mit unterschiedlichem Status, unsere LGBTQ+-Schüler und alle, die das vielfältige und schöne Gefüge unserer Community ausmachen. Obwohl wir Gesetzesänderungen auf allen Ebenen genau beobachten, wird nichts jemals unser Engagement erschüttern, sicherzustellen, dass jeder Schüler gesehen, geschätzt und sicher ist.
Wir möchten auch betonen, dass wir zwar die Rechte unserer Schüler und Familien aus dem ersten Zusatzartikel zur Verfassung respektieren und wahren – einschließlich des Demonstrationsrechts –, aber wir ermutigen alle, die Auswirkungen eines Schulausfalls zu bedenken. Jede Abwesenheit beeinträchtigt nicht nur den Lernerfolg eines Schülers, sondern auch die Fähigkeit von AEA, die Programme und Unterstützungssysteme zu finanzieren, die unsere Schule zu einem sicheren und integrativen Ort für alle machen. Unser unerschütterliches Engagement für unsere Schüler und unsere konstante Anwesenheit helfen uns, weiterhin die Ressourcen bereitzustellen, die AEA stark machen.
AEA ist und bleibt ein Ort, an dem uns Würde, Respekt und Menschlichkeit leiten. Unsere Schüler verdienen nichts Geringeres.
