5th Grade Exhibition Mentors Desperately Needed | AEA Charter Elementary School

The final year of every Primary Years Program (PYP), marks the culminating process known as “Exhibition.”  During Exhibition, our 5th graders apply all the knowledge and skills they have learned over their years at AEA. The exhibition is student-driven and transdisciplinary, requiring 5th graders to collaborate in small groups. Together, they inquire, research, and offer solutions (student action) to current, real-life problems.

9 More 5th Grade Exhibition Mentors Desperately Needed:

We need volunteer Mentors to help guide student groups through the Exhibition process. Mentors may be parents, grandparents, or even community members.  However, for the growth of the student, parents/grandparents are not allowed to mentor their own child’s group.  For parents who don’t have a current 5th grader, being a mentor is a great window into what will be expected of your child during their 5th grade year.  Mentors meet with their assigned group an hour per week (same day and time), for the last six weeks of the year. In addition, Mentors need to attend Exhibition Night, Wednesday, 5-7 p.m, June 13th. Mentors play an invaluable role in the 5th grade Exhibition process.  Please contact 5th grade teacher, Johanna Blackman ASAP at jblackman@aeacs.org if you can volunteer your time with our 5th grade students.
